INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Choose the correct size and fit the orthosis on the patient.
Fit the upper part with the back piece overlapping the front piece, and then fasten with the Velcro.
The height of both the occipital and mandibular supports can be adjusted with the side buttons.
As a precaution, make sure that the orthosis does not compress the glottis and keeps the cervical spine in a neutral position (preventing spine hyper extension and flexion).
Then fit the lower element and adjust the height to adapt it to the physical characteristics of the patient; to do so, remove the velour covering and slide the front and back plates along the fastening rails. After adjusting the height of the orthosis, fasten the shoulder and side straps and firmly tighten to ensure proper immobilisation of the cervical spine. Finally, make sure that the user can swallow normally and that the mandibular support enables the patient to open his/her mouth (2-3 cm) without excessive difficulty. The orthosis is designed to be used equally by male and female patients.
