URINARY INCONTINENCE STRIP FOR WOMEN

The product is compensated by the National Health Insurance System.

The SERASIS® band is indicated for the minimally invasive surgical treatment of stress urinary incontinence in women, also in association with prolapse operations, and in general for the reconstruction of the natural body structures.

Description

The SERASIS® implant, the SERASIS® band, is woven from synthetic blue polypropylene threads. These yarns may be monofilament or two-component fibers, coated with an absorbable layer of glycolid and ε-caprolactone.

The basic structure is represented by the combination of letters in the product name.

The non-absorbable polypropylene mesh, that remains in the body, is long lasting.

During healing, the formation of the scar takes place particularly in the areas around the edges of the band, where the cells can grow in the net structure, and can even cover the band completely.

The special braided structure offers a light weight to the band, macro-porous, with a good strength and a guaranteed stretching strength.

This particular structure of the band ensures a special suppleness, which determines an easy adaptation and a safe adhesion to the tissues.

Because of the blue colour, the band can be easily distinguished from body tissues.
